About Allan B. Hall

Born:  1962, Burlington, VT

 

Working from a detailed pencil sketch, Allan uses oil paints against a linen canvas to develop his three-dimensional images of vibrant color.  He completes the process with a technique called "glazing", which gives his paintings their characteristic luminescence.  Allan's still lifes include personal objects from his own life, including antiques that he has collected over the years.  Allan likes to enlarge the objects and produce large scale still lifes. This results in a greater impact of color and interest.  He has traveled extensively to Italy and France and likes to incorporate the European touch in his paintings.  Allan's oil paintings are sold in numerous art galleries and are collected worldwide.
